It is easy to offend in a world where many experience the ill realities of division, apathy, distrust, broken families, slander, insults, etc. You opening is accepted and my statement held that your approach warrants consideration. This response is a much better form of communication which will compel, in my opinion, more to engage in meaningful discussion. Sharing points of views by as many as possible is important to encourage unity and maximize it.
News is attracted to the 'big fight', the 'latest kill', the 'worse conflict' the 'bizarre tale'. Making a 'big noise' is equal to 'having interest to do' without the devotion, will, boldness, ability and plan to succeed. I will not give focus to Blacks as disadvantaged as I must note Blacks potential. The tiny firecracker makes big sound. To start a good thing, a brilliant new program, a project of unity, I hold that FrontPage can give it a jumpstart. I do not believe the person must be a celebrity first. I criticize KPFK for being 'hot air' and not 'using the air time to work solutions with audience participation on actual solutions'. Today I contacted Carl with a person named Fred, an ex-probation officer who claims to have had the largest Black Blacks group homes in California shouting complaints on the gross wrongs of DCFS. Carl concluded that we needed to speak with Jackie Stevens because a mere one day as guest would not touch the surface of the problem. In part I agree, and will work with Fred on doing as Carl advised. On the other hand, what is the priority of FrontPage? Blacks? A sister told me today how wonderful Steve Cokley and Claude Anderson are in her opinion. I ask you, is proving Jesse Jackson more important to a parent who have lost their child to DCFS, or for children being abused while wrongly separated from their parents? Is Claude Anderson's unity healing the wounds of the homeless and bridging the gap between Blacks Educated Wealthy and Respected by media and Blacks who know they need to be heard without cost to share their Black Plans, projects, aspirations, needs, efforts, ideals, etc. A sister with a plan stated to me she wants someone to be the 'leader' of her project and hope to find a willing acceptable person. I urged her to focus on self-empowerment, and absolute unity. Can FrontPage do it all? NO. However, recently Rob threatened to not allow me to speak anymore except on Friday, should I give another notice or get off topic in his opinion. I am doing for Blacks daily without getting paid, support, appreciation, love, respect, etc. I do it because the need is there, I have the ability, and I care about our people, who too often (all my life) seem not to care the least about me, my sons, etc. I sometimes go hungry to make fliers, and walk for miles to support a worthy cause. Why don't I just get the 9-5 and join the more fruitful whites invitation to party for the bucks? It is not our solution, it stresses me out, it pains me, it injuries me severely. FRONTPAGE is making history everyday, but what will be its lasting work? Will time cast it as a shadow of hope of what could have been the destiny of Blacks or will it be the brilliant blackbulb lit by the power of a mighty race. Many want to know and need to know what to do to solve our Blacks social divided ill state. FRONTPAGE can be the early morning drum for us all to dance out of the white dim cell of second class citizen status to the dancefloor of Blacks Collective Success. How? A person like yourself doing as I do... Call Carl Nelson, Rob, Greg and Jackie Stevens.. encourage them to focus the show on our solutions... to have as many guests with solutions in LA or with national plans to share...
In the silent reality we must ask the haunting possibility that after all is said and done FrontPage is really all about a few and about making dollars... KJLH is known worldwide for its music, Stevie.. and a little after its conception.. placed on the map by FRONTPAGE, the voice of the Black Community. Carl informs me many at the Station want to ditch the show and he is the defender of it. More jokes, less serious issues, fewer harsh shared realities and concerns can keep the blues at bay until they consume one's life in an instant one day. Is FrontPage the voices of the Black Community or the voice of a few repeating guests? What 'issue bomb' must one set to strike the alarm and get a little time? Why does this year feel so much like its last year start all over? Same voices? Same state? Same expressed wishes? What progress? How can you make FrontPae a greater echo of the Black Masses? Carl maybe coming to work at 7am,(a decent hour)while LA must wake at 4:25 to tune in. That's a slice of sleep many lose and never make up each day. A worth sacrifice indeed for a reason as sound as Unity, Trust, and a Plan that will keep Blacks moving ever forward to nationhood and never back to slavery. Peace. Mr. Black Media.
