MR. BLACK MEDIA
Tic Toc TimeBomb. Your response matches your name. First the time of FrontPage is an issue. Second every opinion and question is a good one for conscious people finding opportunity to share Truth. You bomb it seems without using critical thinking giving a personal expression to a far more complexed and open compounded question. I speak with Carl quite a bit, have connected individuals who became guests, have made sound recommendations they applied, and work hard in the best interest of Blacks. FrontPage is our early morning mic to each other and the world, but it is not enough. Carl admits there could be more and supports other Black Media. There are contacts made and as Charles shared friends may be made. Many have praised the valid information shared. However, the questions is a wise and sound one seeking everyone to explore the Black World and consider the reality of uniting us to give the perfect answer. Why might it not be the best or what Blacks need? Does this make it a problem to me or you? No. Does it mean we are putting it down? Not necessarily. Does it means we should move to dump it? No.
Does it mean we need what Charles mentioned..24-7 station to share the conscious Truth? At times the same guest are too frequent, Anderson is not the only one with a Black Plan, Cokely is not the only person who has insight, facts and views on issues, more local need their day as guest tto share the best they give. Maybe then you will accept that we need a FrontDay, not a Frontpage, daily. We must confrontour difference, defuse the bombs to insult impulsively, and apply time, TimeBomb, to live the 7 Kwanzaa Princples daily. You reply is appreciated and I am pleased to know you hvae no problems with the show as it is.
I know, you are the minoirity, however, I stood and stand in defense of having our dear family and the program, FrontPage. Thanks KJLH, Thanks Stevie! Frontpage is a lightyears from having nothing... Just for the record I had my own show, 'HELP CONNECTION' on radio some years back. It was a good show and only personal family problems caused me to end it. Peace. -Mr. Black Media.

Its now 2004. Another year of KJLH Front Page Program with Carl Nelson. Last year I spoke to Carl a lot. I connected Shirley Moore and others to Carl to be a guest. Yet I must ask if Front Page was all right for Blacks? This year Greg assures me he will personally act to have the LA County Department of Children and Family SERvices Issue addressed not only by Front Page, but all of KJLH since it is such a major concern and issue to Blacks needing proper resolution. Can KJLH effectively represent such issues when they need commericals and support? Stevie Wonder does a lot to help us by giving us this important program, Front Page, but is it enough? Carl Nelson, the host of Front Page, states he admits we need more Black Media. With the loss of Jamaal many feel Front Page has lost its Black touch with the community and does not have the same Black Heart Beat. I have urged Carl, Rob and Greg to give more local Blacks airtime and as Guests. I have spoken to Claude Anderson and Steve Cokley that local Black Leaders, change agents and activists need the funding they roll in to LA, collect and roll out after much talk but little resolution, if any. 4:30am is early and HOmeTeam has the more decent wake hour for fun and jokes and play not the serious needed focus and discussion Blacks want. What do you think? HOw can we get the best from Front Page. Should more support and listerners go to LIberation and LIB Radio? I informed Claude Anderson is starting a line of Blacks Stations. I have information from the Black Broadcasters Association. Computers give opportunities for many to have their own station. Will this unite us or divide us more?

I have no issue with the Front Page. If nothing else, it keeps us talking about the issues and challenges our community faces. It is truly a huge undertaking to book the guests they have and KJLH should be congratulated.

The question posed in this thread is a ridiculous one. The fact that some voices aren't heard as often as they would like is no reason to indict KJLH. Those who wish to get on the air and have their voices heard would be better served making some impact in the community at-large and, through this impact, show Front Page the value of having their voices heard.

Warren,

Keep on advocating for the children. Maybe you'll get a chance to say something about the press conference this week. If it up to me we would have 24 hour A.M talk radio from various Black perspctives. Lots of listen to talk radio, and Larry Elder shouldn't be the only voice heard during the week. Today's show was great. Dr. Claude Anderson's focus is economics and what we as Black folks can do to improve our own condtion. We can't depend on the President. He wants to open the borders to any who says they have a job waiting for Mexican immigrants. That will put even more Americans out of work.

Timebomb,
We agree about the Front Page. It's a great show. Now only to get a lot of good information I've made some good friends. This issue today was Black Economics and Carl Nelson was kind of enough to mention. 1-800 UNITE US

Mr. Black Media,

If you took offense to my response, my apologies. I certainly didn't mean to offend. However, the question, as it is written, seemed to inform a false dilemma that questioned the show's utility. I must have misunderstood.

Should there be more voices heard? Absolutely! Are there other "plans", analyses, and insights that can be of value? Definitely! My point is that it is incumbent upon the ones, who wish to be heard, to make enough of an impact, in the community at-large, to compel KJLH to book them.

The benefits are twofold: (1) It gets more ears listening to the guests, show, and station as a whole; and (2)The guests enjoy a spike in the numbers they draw to their events and causes.

It is easy to appreciate that we have people in our community who have the desire to make a difference. However, desire has proen to be insufficient. Our focus now needs to shift to those who are effective.

It is easy to offend in a world where many experience the ill realities of division, apathy, distrust, broken families, slander, insults, etc. You opening is accepted and my statement held that your approach warrants consideration. This response is a much better form of communication which will compel, in my opinion, more to engage in meaningful discussion. Sharing points of views by as many as possible is important to encourage unity and maximize it.

News is attracted to the 'big fight', the 'latest kill', the 'worse conflict' the 'bizarre tale'. Making a 'big noise' is equal to 'having interest to do' without the devotion, will, boldness, ability and plan to succeed. I will not give focus to Blacks as disadvantaged as I must note Blacks potential. The tiny firecracker makes big sound. To start a good thing, a brilliant new program, a project of unity, I hold that FrontPage can give it a jumpstart. I do not believe the person must be a celebrity first. I criticize KPFK for being 'hot air' and not 'using the air time to work solutions with audience participation on actual solutions'. Today I contacted Carl with a person named Fred, an ex-probation officer who claims to have had the largest Black Blacks group homes in California shouting complaints on the gross wrongs of DCFS. Carl concluded that we needed to speak with Jackie Stevens because a mere one day as guest would not touch the surface of the problem. In part I agree, and will work with Fred on doing as Carl advised. On the other hand, what is the priority of FrontPage? Blacks? A sister told me today how wonderful Steve Cokley and Claude Anderson are in her opinion. I ask you, is proving Jesse Jackson more important to a parent who have lost their child to DCFS, or for children being abused while wrongly separated from their parents? Is Claude Anderson's unity healing the wounds of the homeless and bridging the gap between Blacks Educated Wealthy and Respected by media and Blacks who know they need to be heard without cost to share their Black Plans, projects, aspirations, needs, efforts, ideals, etc. A sister with a plan stated to me she wants someone to be the 'leader' of her project and hope to find a willing acceptable person. I urged her to focus on self-empowerment, and absolute unity. Can FrontPage do it all? NO. However, recently Rob threatened to not allow me to speak anymore except on Friday, should I give another notice or get off topic in his opinion. I am doing for Blacks daily without getting paid, support, appreciation, love, respect, etc. I do it because the need is there, I have the ability, and I care about our people, who too often (all my life) seem not to care the least about me, my sons, etc. I sometimes go hungry to make fliers, and walk for miles to support a worthy cause. Why don't I just get the 9-5 and join the more fruitful whites invitation to party for the bucks? It is not our solution, it stresses me out, it pains me, it injuries me severely. FRONTPAGE is making history everyday, but what will be its lasting work? Will time cast it as a shadow of hope of what could have been the destiny of Blacks or will it be the brilliant blackbulb lit by the power of a mighty race. Many want to know and need to know what to do to solve our Blacks social divided ill state. FRONTPAGE can be the early morning drum for us all to dance out of the white dim cell of second class citizen status to the dancefloor of Blacks Collective Success. How? A person like yourself doing as I do... Call Carl Nelson, Rob, Greg and Jackie Stevens.. encourage them to focus the show on our solutions... to have as many guests with solutions in LA or with national plans to share...

In the silent reality we must ask the haunting possibility that after all is said and done FrontPage is really all about a few and about making dollars... KJLH is known worldwide for its music, Stevie.. and a little after its conception.. placed on the map by FRONTPAGE, the voice of the Black Community. Carl informs me many at the Station want to ditch the show and he is the defender of it. More jokes, less serious issues, fewer harsh shared realities and concerns can keep the blues at bay until they consume one's life in an instant one day. Is FrontPage the voices of the Black Community or the voice of a few repeating guests? What 'issue bomb' must one set to strike the alarm and get a little time? Why does this year feel so much like its last year start all over? Same voices? Same state? Same expressed wishes? What progress? How can you make FrontPae a greater echo of the Black Masses? Carl maybe coming to work at 7am,(a decent hour)while LA must wake at 4:25 to tune in. That's a slice of sleep many lose and never make up each day. A worth sacrifice indeed for a reason as sound as Unity, Trust, and a Plan that will keep Blacks moving ever forward to nationhood and never back to slavery. Peace. Mr. Black Media.

Frontpage - I have been a listener for about 8-10 years. I have been working the 6am shift for 11 years so I wil give or take a few years.

I am tired of the same callers saying the same thing. Its so much talk and not enough doing. We should be out every weekend working for the same causes.

People are so uptight with their own personal views and not about the people.

I like to see everyone unite as Black PEOPLE regardless of shapes, sizes, same gender loving or age. Its ridiculous when I hear an old fool calling in with some old "values" which do not apply today.

There are lots of subject matters that probably need to be addressed but you know Black men cant deal with a lot of negative truth unless it means they will be going without.

As a young 41 year woman, I like to hear new views. We have to care about people and stop trying to use the Bible for our own personal gain. Its sad enough seeing the Black church or the preachers misusing the Bible.

I desperately wait for the day when we all unite and embrace each other as Black people. Stop hating the gay community, people who wear dreadlocks, someone with nappy hair, someone with AIDS or someone with a shaddy past.

Unite and love each other.

If you are in not good state and have no money to go out from that point, you would require to take the business loans. Because it will help you definitely. I get financial loan every single year and feel good just because of that.
